The Build by Paul Teutel Jr

The Build reveals the "behind the scenes" story of the popular TV reality series “American Chopperfor the show's millions of fans.

Author Paul Teutul, Jr., is arguably the most creative builder of custom "chopper" motorcycles in the world. His talents were revealed to millions of TV viewers worldwide on American Chopper, as well as later on a spinoff series,American Chopper Senior vs Junior. The Build gives the reader at Paul Jr.'s life behind the camera, which included volcanic conflict with his father and business mentor, Paul Sr. Using his own story of improbable success as an illustration, Paul Jr. offers insights on how anyone can find and activate often hidden talents. In a charming, often humorous way, The Build is a rallying cry to unleash God-designed creativity and live life to the fullest.

The book was interesting. I believe it was genuine and truthful. It held my interest completely in I had watched American Choppers from the beginning and Jr's has an amazing talent. If you are an American Chopper fan you will like the book as it covers those years and into Jr's own business. I was a fan of the shows with Jr and Sr but didn't realize the extent that the discord between them was. I also didn't realize that the drinking was such a problem. The book takes you into some of the off scenes and back scenes that you didn't get to see on the show. You also get some background of their private lives as well. Paul Teutul Jr has overcome his past and found a new different and much more valuable way with his son. But still an interesting read and I would say read it if you're a fan.

Haunting the Deep by Adriana Mather

I simply adored "How to hang a witch." I was both excited and apprehensive when a sequel was announced. To often a perfectly good book is followed by a perfectly dreadful sequel. That was not the case here! The characters i came to love in "How to hang a witch", Sam, the descendants, Jaxon, Elijah, they all factor into the story in "Haunting the deep" allowing me more background and insight to their lives. They are all complex and interesting people. We also meet some new characters, and they add a dimension of mystery to the plot in ways i didn't expect. The story is interesting, creepy, suspenseful and flows well to keep you engaged. I literally read the whole book in one sitting, that was how entranced i was. Adriana also has a wonderful way of weaving history and facts into her fiction that i like. Yes this story is fiction, but i learned things about the story of the Titanic that i didn't know. I can't say much more without slipping some spoilers in, so i will just say this story is a must read!

Throughout, clearly defined demonstrations provide easy access to the practice of drawing as well as the history and development of core drawing techniques. Richly illustrated, the book contains reproductions of the finest master drawings from the fifteenth century to the present. Unlike other drawing instruction books that focus on step-by-step lessons exclusively,Foundations of Drawing provides readers with the context and background to help understand just why these materials and methods are so vital for successful drawing.

My son loves to draw, and has expressed his desire to pursue a career involving art. So when I saw this book I knew I had to get it for him. It details techniques and tips to improve drawing, plus is full of historical information that I found interesting. My son has spent hours practicing with tips from this book. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their technique.

My Rad Life, a Journal by Schatz and Stahl

An inspiring, empowering journal that encourages its owners to think, create, reflect, and explore their own radness.

This journal is meant to be a companion to the New York Times bestsellers Rad American Women A-Z and Rad Women Worldwide. I had not heard of those books until I got this journal and was able to enjoy it on it's own.The journal features pictures of a wide range of inspirational and diverse women, from Gloria Steinem to BeyoncĂ©, Shirley Chisholm to Michelle Obama, Eve Ensler to J.K Rowling. Miriam Klein Stahl’s artwork is bold, fun and adds dimension to the book. The journal is a softcover book, with bright colors and a fun design. It includes blank pages for doodling, lined pages for writing, quotes from the women pictured, and writing prompts to help get your pen flowing on the page. This book makes journaling fun and would make a great gift for tweens or teens.

I received this awesome journal in exchange for my honest review from Blogging for Books .All opinions are 100% my own.

Sinners in the hands of a loving God by Brian Zahnd

"In his famous sermon “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God,” Puritan revivalist Jonathan Edwards shaped predominating American theology with a vision of God as angry, violent, and retributive. Three centuries later, Brian Zahnd was both mesmerized and terrified by Edwards’s wrathful God.

In Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God, Zahnd asks important questions like: Is seeing God primarily as wrathful towards sinners true or biblical? Is fearing God a normal expected behavior? And where might the natural implications of this theological framework lead us?

Thoughtfully wrestling with subjects like Old Testament genocide, the crucifixion of Jesus, eternal punishment in hell, and the final judgment in Revelation, Zanhd maintains that the summit of divine revelation for sinners is not God is wrath, but God is love."

Brian Zahnd has never been on to be silent or avoid controversy, so taking on the image of God and angry and wrathful was probably something he didn't think twice about. Too often God is portrayed as the angry man in the sky, smiting sinners and hurling them into lakes of fire. Brian takes a different approach, showing us through the text of the bible that God is like Jesus, more loving and desiring of bringing strayed children back to him than just throwing them into hell.

Scripture tells us God and Jesus are one and the same. When we look at the teachings of Jesus we see he taught a lot about turning sinners from their sin and back to him. He taught mercy, love, compassion, forgiveness. The harshest criticisms Jesus ever had were for the hypocrites among the religious elders. Those who thought they were perfect, above others and above reproach. But for the common man, Jesus was more merciful and forgiving. I think that says a lot, and shows that we should teach God's character as less wrathful and more loving and forgiving.

As someone who has been in the church most of her 31 years on this earth, I didn't expect that this book would be anything eye opening, but I was wrong. It's a book I absolutely recommend.

I recieved this book to review from Blogging for books. My review is 100% my own.

Coppertone ClearlySheer Sunscreen

Thanks to Coppertone and BzzAgent i have gotten to try the new COPPERTONE CLEARLYSheer sunscreen for free. The sunscreen has a light, fresh scent that doesn't smell like normal sunscreen, but isn't strong enough to bother my allergies. That's an important factor in buying almost anything for me. The sunscreen grows on light, and doesn't feel greasy like some other formulas. It leaves skin feeling soft and moisturized. The CLEARLYsheer comes in two formulas:
CLEARLYSHEER FOR SUNNY DAYS: Clean and light formulas are ideal for everyday use under makeup with a fresh citrus scent that’s appropriate for routine daily activities.
CLEARLYSHEER FOR BEACH & POOL Delightfully light, refreshing formulas feel clean on skin, are water resistant for up to 80 minutes and have a subtle tropical fruit and flower fragrance.

Both formuals have the same awesome benefits: -Absorbs in seconds for a clean and light feel -Moisturizing formulas help leave your skin soft and smooth -Won’t clog pores or cause breakouts (clinically tested on acne-prone skin) -Matte finish is perfect for use under makeup

I am in love with this sunscreen! It really feels like a sunscreen made with adults in mind and i love that. I can not recommend it highly enough!
